IRP Trip Permits

If you DO NOT have IRP registration and you meet any of the below qualification, you WILL need a Trip Permit. 

 

  • Truck or Tractor has 3 or more axles.

  • Truck or Tractor has a gross vehicle/combination weight over 26,000lbs.

  •  Operating a commercially licensed vehicle in Arizona, California, or Connecticut regardless of weight/axles.

  • Operating a commercially licensed vehicle in Nevada in excess of 10,000 lbs.

IFTA Fuel Permits 

If you DO NOT have an IFTA sticker and you meet any of the below qualification, you WILL need a Fuel Permit. 

 

  • Truck or Tractor has 3 or more axles.

  • Truck or Tractor has a gross vehicle/combination weight over 26,000lbs.

  • Permit may be required to re-enter the base state. 

Oversize &
Overweight Permits

If you meet any of these qualifications, you WILL need an OS/OW Permit. 

  • Exceeding a Gross Vehicle Weight of 80,000 lbs. 

  • Exceeding legal axle group weights

  • Exceeding 8'6” wide. (8'0" in Maryland)

  • Exceeding 13'6” high. (Some states have a legal height at 14'0" or 14'6”)

  • Exceeding 53'0" trailer/load length. (Varies state to state)

  • Exceeding legal kingpin length. (Varies state to state)

  • When traveling on any roadways in excess of a particular jurisdiction's legal dimensions.

Superload Permits

A Superload permit is an oversize/overweight permit with dimensions in excess of a standard issue permit. Superload dimensions vary by state. Additional information may be required when requesting a superload permit such as a route survey, insurance, or drawings. Please order as far in advance as possible. Some state may take up to 10 business days to issue.

Kentucky KYU

A temporary KYU is required if RGW is greater than 60,000 lbs. If your company already has a KYU Fleet Number, a temp KYU may NOT be issued, and you must add the KYU vehicle to inventory. 

New York HUT

A New York HUT permit is required if the unladen/empty weight of the vehicle is greater than 8,000 lbs. or if the RGW exceeds 18,000 lbs. We can issue a temporary or a permanent HUT.

Hunters Permit

A Hunters Permit allows an individual ending their contract with a company, (employer pulls plates and DOT# from vehicle) to travel with no load and 'hunt' for another job or return home.
